The first ever race in the Racing Marble’s League was a wake up call for the racer named SKUNK. Slotted into an unfortunate 5th position to start the race, the black and white colored marble just could not seem to make up ground in order to place in the top 3 required to move on to the main event race for the day. Instead, SKUNK dropped all the way to 7th out of 7th place in heat 1 and was eliminated from the rest of the day’s competition.
A dejected SKUNK rolled up to his handlers after a brief moment to himself, presumably collecting his thoughts on what went wrong. At the press conference afterwards, SKUNK did not offer many words to the reporters but left an indelible impression on everyone in attendance when he simply and bluntly remarked:
“I STUNK.”
There are 5 races left for the season, so SKUNK still has time to catch up and make a run at one of the top spots. Currently, however, SKUNK finds himself ranked 20th out of 21 in the standings. It will be a daunting task, but SKUNK believes it can be done:
“I can’t do any worse than that can I? The only place to go from here is up.”
